COMPUTER AIDED REHABILITATION

Computer Aided Rehabilitation Algorithms and Toold (CARAT)

  • Presentation:

Throughout the world there is an increasing need for better technologies for rehabilitation and assistance. These new solutions must present improved performance in terms of therapy effectiveness, while at the same time minimizing the corresponding costs. In this scenario, computer-aided methods represent a promising alternative for the challenges currently faced by the rehabilitation domain. Within this project, we will focus on the development of algorithms for human motion analysis for both clinical and residential settings. Based on portable and external sensing technologies, the goal of the project is to provide tools that may be used in a broad range of rehabilitation tasks, including potential use in telerehabilitation. The complimentary experience of the project partners towards this goal is a key aspect of this work, as well as the close collaboration with clinical experts, that will help on the design and evaluation of the proposed methods.
