This paper presents a description of the methodology developed by the initiative Jatun Kamachix, which seeks to promote a technological and social consciousness within the educational process. The process involves a group of college students traveling to a remote location inside Peru and leading a series of workshops designed to promote scientific awareness, the development of innovation, research and technology in high school students. The data presented in this paper was collected via observations performed during the duration of the workshops as well as questionnaires performed at the beginning and end of the total duration of the workshops.
