We have started designing portable particle detectors based on current affordable technologies. For example, we use CMOS based webcams, SiPM, photodiodes, LDRs to detect charged particles and photons. As detection medium we employ plastic scintillator. For the experimental automated setup control and data acquisition we use Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Our measurements are applied to atmospheric muons, radioactive sources and laser beams. As part of these studies we simulate the detectors using GEANT4 and for some applications also CORSIKA.
