We are glad to report that the High Energy Physics group has won two grants this year.

The first grant was awarded by the National Science Funding Agency (PROCIENCIA) to Dr Joel Jones-Pérez, with a project titled «Phenomenology of Supersymmetric Models with Massive Neutrinos and Long-Lived Particles». The objective of the project is to understand Supersymmetric (SUSY) models featuring a broken symmetry, called R-Parity, and its connection to neutrino masses and long-lived particles. It will allow the funding of two Master students and a Research Assistant, expand the capacity of our local server, and provide means to present our results at international conferences.

The second grant was awarded by the PUCP itself to Dr Alberto Gago, in collaboration with the other members of the Group, for the project «New frontiers in particle physics and astrophysics: theoretical and experimental challenges». This project focuses on neutrino phenomenology, studies of long-lived particles, dark matter cosmology, as well as the TAMBO and SWGO experiments, including hardware development and calibration, as well as simulations and reconstructions to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the detectors’ response. This project will also fund undergraduate and postgraduate students, and will be relevant in our participation in both TAMBO and SWGO.
