Applying Collaborative Tools for ATM Interface Design in a Remote Context

In a financial institution in Peru, a framework for ATM (Automated Teller Machine) interface design based on UCD (User-Centered Design) is being implemented and utilized. This framework has defined a set of phases, activities, and tools to carry out a whole process of interface design or redesign. This framework had a highly face-to-face component, but due to the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, where virtualization and remote work became widespread, all activities and tools were updated to support full virtuality. In this way, certain tools were incorporated and, thus, the framework has updated to enable and promote collaboration in a completely remote environment. In this sense, the results of a case study are presented, where the framework was executed in its remote version, for the attention of a design and implementation requirement in ATM. Results were very positive, from the point of view of the evaluation results, and the acceptance of stakeholders. They gave their agreement for the implementation of the proposed design; as well as feedback from the project team members, who consider that the framework has responded adequately to the challenges of remote work.
