José Timaná receives 1st Place Scientific Poster Presentation Award at RCBU Biomedical Ultrasound Symposium

Biomedical Ultrasound Symposium Day 2021, organized by Rochester Center for Biomedical Ultrasound, included topical lectures, student presentations, poster sessions, lunch, and networking opportunities for students interested or working in ultrasound imaging and ultrasound-mediated therapeutics. The biomedical engineering student José Timaná won first place in the scientific poster session. His research was titled: “Simultaneous imaging of ultrasonic backscatter and attenuation coefficients for liver steatosis detection in a murine animal model.”
Also, other members of our Lab competed in the poster competition
•Finite Element Method simulation for Crawling Wave Sonoelastography: German Leiva
•Comparison between Shear Wave Speed estimators using local spatial information for Crawling Waves Sonoelastography: Sebastian Merino
•Automatic recognition of ultrasound lung Volume Sweep Imaging for B-mode reconstruction: Naomi Guevara, Rodrigo Alarcón y Ximena Montoya
•Feasibility of a Deep Learning approach to estimate Shear Wave Speed using the framework of Reverberant Shear Wave Elastography: A numerical simulation study: Pierol Quispe
•Regularized wavenumber estimation for reverberant shear wave elastography: Preliminary results: Aldo Tecse
