Research project: Stigma and related attitudes toward persons with mental health problems with experiences of forced migration in Peru and Germany. A mixed method study

Results:

• Qualitative and Quantitative Research on mental health of migrant and refugee persons. Approximately 6 students (PUCP and FUB) will engage in a comparative study on causal beliefs on mental health, stigma and help seeking with German and Peruvian university students. 
• Implementation of 2 COIL Modules (Collaborative International Learning Module) between Peruvian students (PUCP) and master students (FUB). Semester 2024-2 (página informativa) and semester 2025-2 (página informativa).
• Conference and collaborative manuscript on teaching experiences on community psychology. 
• Visiting Professor Miryam Rivera Holguín at FUB from December 2024 to February 2025. Teaching activities at the Master Program of Transcultural Clinical Psychology and Psychotraumatology.
• Networking activities: Conference on Transitional Justice and Human Rights by Professor Miryam Rivera Holguín at FUB from December 2024 to February 2025. 
• Visiting Professor Nadine Stammel at PUCP in April 2026. Teaching activities in the undergraduate course Psychology and Violence

Abstract:

With the aim of broadening understanding of mental health among migrant and refugee populations in contexts of transitional justice and humanitarian emergencies, the GIPC and the TCPP joined forces to propose research, teaching, and networking activities.
