Determination of mineral pulps concentrations that reduce the energy consumption in ore grinding processes of concentrator plants through numerical modeling and experimental tests
Goal: Energy consumption in mineral concentrator plants represents about 60 to 80% of their operating costs, and 30% of the sale price of the mineral concentrate. The main goal of this project involves thus the determination of mineral pulps concentrations – based on their rheological, mineralogical and morphological characterization – in ore grinding processes of concentrator plants in order to reduce their associated energy costs.
