1H-NMR spectroscopy combined with multivariate analyses is key for untargeted metabolomics studies. Applied in the assessment of different types of human biofluids it can fingerprint the physiological stages and metabolic variations associated to a particular disease. In this paper it has been utilized  as a possible pathway to depict new neurocysticercosis (NCC) biomarkers that could be used for diagnostic or referral purposes as well as to monitor the progression of the disease. This exploratory study, albeit performed on a reduced number of patients – urine and serum matrixes- showed discrimination between NCC patients and the control groups through metabolites present in urine with a moderate predictive accuracy (R2= 0.999, Q2=0.434).
